Playing Gershwin
22.06.21

The second poet in ‘Terrain’, the cafe’s anthology of poetry and places, is Liz Carew. Liz grew up in the far north of Scotland and now lives in Gloucestershire. Her first poem won a competition in primary school but when it was published in the local paper they left out her name! She wrote her next poem almost forty years later during a writing course at Cirencester College. Now she loves writing poetry which she feels enables her to make sense of and share feelings, memories and insights. The place featured in her poem is Cheltenham. To listen to Liz reading ‘Playing Gershwin’ click here or on the photo image above. To download a written pdf version of the poem plus previously published work in the ‘Terrain’ series click on the e-book button on the poetry page or here.
