The Improbable Book Cafe was established in 2021 by Sophie Livingston.

Main

Sophie worked as a journalist for 15 years. Her work has appeared in national magazines and been broadcast on BBC Radio. She was long-listed for the InkTears flash fiction competition in 2017 and the Fish Short Story Prize in 2020. She was also long-listed for the Mslexia/Poetry Book Society Women’s Poetry Prize in 2019. In 2021 her work has appeared in ARTEMISpoetry and in Black Bough’s Dark Confessions anthology. More work is due to appear in Black Bough’s Freedom and Rapture edition later this year. Her debut novel, The Green March Hotel, was one of the 12 finalists in the 2021 Mslexia First Novel competition judged by Hilary Mantel.
