A Different Land
29.06.21

Our star poet this week is Frank McMahon. His poem ‘A Different Land’ is an account of an emotional journey across the stretch of Wainwright’s Coast to Coast path that runs from Kirkby Stephens in Cumbria, to Keld in North Yorkshire. Frank’s first volume of poems, ‘At the Storm’s Edge’, was published in January 2020 and his work has been Highly Commended in two national poetry competitions. He’s been invited to read at this year’s Cheltenham Poetry Festival and will be performing on July 19th, (tickets available here). To listen to Frank reading ‘A Different Land’ click here or on the photo image above. To download a written pdf version of the poem plus previously published work in the ‘Terrain’ series click on the e-book button on the poetry page or here.
