Playing Gershwin by Liz Carew
The second poet in ‘Terrain’, the cafe’s anthology of poetry and places, is Liz Carew. Liz grew up in the far north of Scotland and now lives in Gloucestershire. Her first poem won a competition in primary school but when it was published in the local paper they left out her name! She wrote her next poem almost forty years later during a writing course at Cirencester College. Now she loves writing poetry which she feels enables her to make sense of and share feelings, memories and insights. The place featured in her poem is Cheltenham. To download a written pdf version of this poem including the work of poets previously published in the ‘Terrain’ series, click on the e-book button above. The music is Summer Days by Kai Engel.
Loved the audio versions and great to have the poems to read through.
