Well, at least I didn’t forget my name this time! Secret Recipes was featured on Sue Kinnear’s evening programme on BBC Wiltshire this week, and I was asked to do a live interview on Tuesday. Largely, I write because I am both opinionated and shy (it’s the equivalent of shouting very loudly from inside a large, sealed box) – and I dread public performance. As a child, I got out of it by fainting whenever I was put on a stage. The first time I did a radio interview I was asked to introduce myself – and there was a palpable pause before I remembered who I was! I don’t make that mistake anymore. I write down my name on a piece of paper and have it in front of me throughout. However, I think this one went okay – and Sue kindly plugged this website – so a warm welcome to those listeners who wanted to find out how the story ended! I’m working on a new venture now – a series of recordings by poets I admire, reading their own work on landscapes and places. Hopefully, it will all be up on the site in a few weeks’ time.
