Sour Louis marries, leaving his neighbours wondering and shocked – but can his happiness last?
A modern fairy tale. The story is nine minutes long. Guest reader: Jolyon Livingston. The music is Henry Eccles, Violin Sonata in G Minor – Grave.
Oh dear!
That was a bit miserable but well done! Thank you.
Jo has another string to his bow?
We look forward to more and, of course, the books.
Poor Louis, I wish that he might have accepted his good fortune and not undermined it. Life is so fickle, whilst the law of cause and effect applies to many aspects it doesn’t seem applicable to the strange ties which bind us together. Well, at least until it does.
An important and interesting area to explore – the problem of not feeling worth too much happiness…becoming jealous, cutting her down to his size, ‘preparing for when she leaves’…I think we all have a capacity for self-destruction – let us be aware of it so as not to fall into Louis’ trap…
I love the concrete description e.g ‘a tall dark man with bones awkard as a deckchair;, and his smile, ‘like the stagger of a new-born lamb’…and Agatta’s beauty being evident in people’s reaction to her…Good story Sophie, and engagingly read, thank you Jo.
